us: our boys

Jason and I have two dogs. One is a 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier who, after being passed through 2 or 3 families with children too young for such an energetic pup, acquired the name Jack. Finally he ended up with me! I fell in love at first sight and we slept together the first night we met! (literally of course:)~) He keeps us on our toes, let's just say. The next is Sawyer Bud, the 3 year old mutt. If I could breed Sawyer Buds, I would. He is the sweetest dog I've ever met. I say all the time that we don't deserve him. Now, Jack, we deserve. :) Jason married himself into quite a cute interesting little family, I'd say. I am more like Jack. We're both small balls of energy! I never want to sit-I always want to be 'doing', and Jack is always in our faces asking to do something; always wanting. Jason is like Sawyer. He knows how to sit and relax. He is content and happy-go-lucky. But they're both quite handsome!

us: the wedding

Our wedding was incredible. It was a huge wonderful display of love. So many people in our lives came together to help make it happen. My uncle designed and built the "chuppah" that we were married under. My aunt and her husband catered and co-ordianted everything that went on. My great-aunt painted a portrait of us that we displayed at our wedding and then later gave to us as a gift. What a cool gift! I asked my mom to walk me up the aisle because she truly is my best friend and if it weren't for her we would not have had anything growing up. She made everything happen and work out; and it was entirely appropriate that she give me away. I designed our wedding invitations and also created the centerpieces and our "bird's nest" ring pillow along with Jason.
We were married at my mom's fiance's sister's gorgeous home a little outside of New Orleans. It was an outdoor ceremony in her HUGE "back yard"-if you can call it that. The reception took place there as well, but under tents. We asked another uncle of mine to read a poem that we love that nicely says how we feel. Pablo Neruda's "I Do Not Love You." The title sounds funny I know-google it. It's beautiful! We danced our first dance to Eastmountainsouth's "You Dance."
Here are a few photos from the evening! Enjoy!

us: the nutshell

Allow us to introduce ourselves-in a nutshell. We are a brand new, little New Orleans (Metairie) family consisting of Jason (the husband, insurance agent, and is sweet as pie and adorable as, well, pie!), Kelli (the wife, graphic designer, vegetarian, and is sweet, funny, short and energetic!), Jack (the eldest of 2 dogs who is 5 years old, but has the attitude of a 15 year old boy, trying to steal the keys to his parents car and whatnot), and then there's Sawyer (the 2 year old sweet mutt. Jack is the brains, Sawyer is the workhorse-you get the picture. Too sweet for his own good).
Jason and I got married this past October 17. We met online 2 years and one month before. Such a modern romance! If you know me-you are not surprised that the world wide web was involved in our courtship. We met and the rest was history!
So, welcome to our blog! We hope you enjoy the pictures we'll post and the stories we'll tell!
